Cheri Hike is another popular short Day Hike Thimphu, located towards the North of capital city of Thimphu. The hike takes you through dense forests and up steep mountain slopes, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes and upper Thimphu.

The trail starts at Dodena the base of the Cheri Monastery, which was built in the 17th century and is one of the oldest monasteries in Bhutan. The monastery houses ancient artifacts and religious relics, and visitors can witness monks in prayer or meditation.

The Cheri Hike is a  rewarding experience, with steep inclines and rocky terrain. Hikers will encounter various flora and fauna along the way, including rare species of birds and animals.

At the top of the trail, hikers are rewarded with stunning panoramic views of the Thimphu valley.
