DAGALA TREK

Description

Dagala trek is a challenging but rewarding trek that takes you through some of the most beautiful and remote parts of Bhutan. You will hike through forests, pastures, and over high mountain passes, with stunning views of snow-capped peaks and valleys. Along the way, you will visit remote villages and monasteries, and have the opportunity to interact with local people and learn about their culture and way of life. This trek is a great way to experience the natural beauty and cultural richness of Bhutan, and to challenge yourself physically and mentally.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport, you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to your hotel. After settling in, you will visit the National Museum of Bhutan and Paro Rinpung Dzong, a fortress-monastery that dates back to the 15th century.

Tiger’s Nest Monastery (3,120m). The hike takes approximately 5-6 hours round trip and offers stunning views of the Paro valley. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche flew to this location on the back of a tiger and meditated here for several years. The monastery is perched on a cliff and is one of the most iconic landmarks of Bhutan. After the hike, you can relax and enjoy a traditional Bhutanese hot stone bath to soothe your tired muscles.

After breakfast, drive to the starting point of the trek at Genekha. The trail takes you through beautiful forests and pastures, with stunning views of the surrounding mountains nd pastures to the village of Gur.

Today’s trek is a challenging one, as you climb up to the Labatama Pass (4,430m) and descend into the Labatama Valley. You will have stunning views of snow-capped peaks throughout the day.

Take a day to acclimatize and explore the area around Labatama. You can hike up to the nearby lakes or visit the nearby yak herders’ camp.

Today’s trek takes you over several passes, with stunning views of Mount Gangchhenta and other peaks. You will camp for the night at Panka.(4000m)

Today’s trek takes you through beautiful forests and pastures to the village of Talakha. You will have stunning views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Today’s trek takes you through beautiful forests and pastures to the village of Chamgang. You will have stunning views of the surrounding  valleys. The valley narrows till the path takes to the slopes and gradually ascends to the Chamgang. Drive to Thimphu(Captial City)

After breakfast, drive to Thimphu and visit the Tashichho Dzong, a beautiful fortress-monastery that serves as the seat of Bhutan’s government. In the afternoon, visit Buddha Point, a giant statue of Buddha that overlooks the city.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Paro International Airport for your departure flight.
